Organizational Structure

Governing Bodies
The governing bodies are the AFA Board of Directors and General Management.
The Board of Directors comprises four to six members, including one president, one vice president and two to four executive members.
The positions of president, vice-president and member of the Board of Directors have a six-year duration. The same person can be appointed as a member of the AFA´s Board of Directors for two consecutive or three alternate mandates at most.
The basic rules of organisation and operation and the rules of conduct of the members of the Board of Directors are laid down in their rules of procedure:

The General Management consists of the Managing Director and up to four other directors who exercise leadership in specialized areas in accordance with the AFA´s organic structure.
The AFA´s Managing Director is a member of the Board who has a voice but no vote.
The AFA´s Board of Directors and General Management are currently made up of:
Mr. Raül González Fernández, Chairman
Mr. González has been exercising as a lawyer since 2001 and he has his own firm, specializing in commercial and corporate law, since 2005. During these years, he has accumulated extensive experience as an administrator and liquidator in various judicial processes. In addition, he has participated in the drafting of several Andorran laws in different fields. He has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of the AFA since 2011.
Mr. Armand Pujal Codony, Vice president
Mr. Pujal has developed his professional career at the Bank of France, where he participated in processes such as the implementation of the euro. Between 2011 and 2012, he served as General Secretary of the Bank of France, his functions included financial management, support activities and information systems. He is currently also a member of the Board of Directors of the State Agency for the Resolution of Banking Entities of Andorra (AREB).
Mr. Maanan Aouraghe Bendada, Board Member
Mr. Aouraghe holds a degree in business administration. He has extensive experience in business consulting in different areas such as organisation, investment processes, restructuring, accounting and taxation, among others. In addition to his experience in several private sectors, he has also provided advice in the field of public finance and at the budgetary level of the Principality of Andorra.
Mr. Josep Capella Fernàndez, Board Member
Mr. Capella is an actuary and has developed extensive international experience in the financial sector. His responsibility at Deutsche Bank in London, where he was part of the global market risk team, and at the insurance company Zurich in Barcelona, where he has held various roles of responsibility in the actuarial field, in risk and solvency, and in the capital management, is remarkable. He is currently in charge of risks for Banco Sabadell and Zurich’s bancassegurances business unit.
Mr. Josep Escoriza Martínez, Board Member
Mr. Escoriza is civil engineer and an European Financial Analyst (CEFA). He has developed different responsibilities within the Andorran banking sector for more than 20 years, both in the organisational and in the technological environments, and both in the Principality and in different subsidiaries abroad, having been a member of the Executive Committee in recent years. He is currently the Managing Director of Engineering and Development at the multinational NiceTech.
Mr. David Cerqueda Solé, Managing Director (Member)
Mr. Cerqueda has developed a wide international experience in the financial sector including his responsibilities in the banking institution BNP Paribas in Paris and London, where he served as Vice-President of Equity Capital Markets for the Iberian Peninsula, and in the North American entity Goldman Sachs, where he held different responsibilities in the London Investment Banking division, including that of Executive Director of the Financing Group for Southern Europe. Finally, he has served as General Manager of the Digital Business at Grupo Godó de Comunicación in recent years.
Ms. Maripau Naranjo Llanos, Secretary (non-member)
Ms. Naranjo has more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector, has a degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Barcelona and is a Certified European Financial Analyst (CEFA). She joined the AFA as a technician in 2001 and has held different positions within this authority, both in the areas of supervision and regulatory development for the financial system. Prior to joining the AFA, she held different positions in banking entities and advisory firms in Andorra and Spain.
Mr. David Cerqueda Solé, Managing Director
